Since 3d printing has been invented the whole process of stop motion has become a lot easier.

In coralline they used 3d printing to create all of the different expressions on the main characters face, there were 20,000 overall. This shows that overall 3D printing is aiding the stop motion industry massively as you can easily print hundreds of faces/ body parts, that will be more likely be more accurate and more to size frame than others, due to their being no human error in the making.
